The TIB bus #231 is a seasonal bus route, May to October, that takes you through the spectacular Tramuntana mountain range (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and I can highly recommend it!

I’m a Mallorca resident, so my journey was free, but even if you pay (by bank card, saving up to 60%) the two and a half journey will cost less than 10 euro. I did my trip in May, so the scenery was still quite lush and green. I’m writing this in August in 40° temperatures, when all the vegetation, apart from the pine trees, is brown and there’s an extreme risk of wildfires!

My photographs were taken through bus windows, so aren’t the best quality. I was also, when it was safe to do so, bearing in mind the switchback roads, swapping from side to side of the bus.

Next time, I’ll do the return journey, this was just one way. I caught a different bus from Alcudia old town, back to Palma.

Here’s a link to the TIB website, where you can see the route and the stops. You can follow me on Facebook, which I where I post all sorts of Mallorca related things, from sea views to street art.
