The 18 Best Jet2 Family Hotels in Spain for Toddlers (Real Reviews)

The 18 Best Jet2 Family Hotels in Spain for Toddlers (Real Reviews)

If you have ever booked a Jet2 holiday off the back of its location score, you will know the feeling. A hotel rated 8 out of 10 for location sounds great, right up until you are the last drop on a 90 minute transfer coach, looking out at a resort with nothing within walking distance and realising you will need a hire car just to buy a pint of milk. The hotel can be lovely. The score told you almost nothing about what actually matters when you are travelling with a toddler.

So this is the opposite of a brochure. Every hotel below is bookable as a Jet2 holiday, and every one has been judged on what real families who stayed there said, not on what the people selling it say. We have weighted the things that count with under fives: a short transfer, genuine pram friendly walkability, a shallow safe beach, and proper baby kit and pools. If you think a 90 minute coach and a clifftop "sea view" with a hundred steps are fine, this list is not for you, and that is okay. For everyone else, here are 18 across every coastal and island corner of Spain that Jet2 flies to, with rough UK flight times so you can weigh up the journey too. For the wider picture beyond toddlers, we also have guides to the best beach holidays in Spain and the best family beaches in Europe.

What we actually judged on

Four things, in order. Transfer length, because Jet2's location number grades where a hotel sits in its resort, not how far that resort is from the airport or where you fall in the coach drop order. Real walkability, meaning flat access to sand, a few restaurants and a supermarket, not "near the beach" in the marketing sense. The beach itself, because toddlers want shallow, gently shelving, calm water, not a steep drop into waves. And the pool and baby kit, namely shallow children's pools or splash parks, cots, high chairs, and a kids' club or crèche that takes under fives.

One honest warning on transfers before the hotels, because it is the thing that catches families out most. Real transfer time is distance from the airport, plus the wait at the airport before the coach leaves (often about 45 minutes), plus every other hotel the coach stops at first. That is how a "good location" still leaves you on a bus for an hour and a half. The proof is in real reviews: families report the shared Jet2 coach to parts of Gran Canaria taking around two hours despite a sub 40 minute drive, the Es Figueral resort in Ibiza is listed at about a 90 minute transfer when the drive is closer to 40, and Alcudia in Majorca is roughly 45 minutes by private car but routinely 75 to 90 on a shared coach. With a toddler, paying for a private or express transfer, or picking a resort close to its airport, is money very well spent. Check that distance before you fall for the location score.

The Balearics

Short flights, calm beaches and Spain's most family focused islands. The pick of the lot for under fives.

Majorca (around 2 hours 15 to 2 hours 30 from the UK)

Zafiro Palace Alcudia, Port d'Alcudia

Zafiro Palace Alcudia

The premium Majorca choice, on one of the best toddler beaches in the Med. Families return year after year, and reviews repeatedly praise the swim up rooms, the children's splash area, the playground beside the dining terrace and the sheer number of pools. One parent on TripAdvisor summed it up as "perfect for smaller kids, kids club fantastic."

  • Transfer: about 45 minutes from Palma by private car, and Jet2 includes free express transfers, which cut out the extra drops.

  • Walk to: beach and port 5 to 10 minutes; Alcudia old town about 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Beach: Playa de Alcudia, a long shallow lifeguarded bay, ideal for paddling.

  • Toddler kit: swim up rooms, splash pool, mini disco, kids' club, cots.

  • Board: all inclusive and half board.

  • The catch: sunbeds vanish scandalously early, evening shows lean adult, and it is pricey and very busy with families.

Iberostar Selection Albufera Park and Playa, Playa de Muro

Iberostar Selection

The smart mid range all inclusive, fully refurbished in 2023 and sitting directly on Playa de Muro, voted best beach in Spain by TripAdvisor users. The two hotel complex shares seven pools and ten places to eat. Families love the shallow splash pools, the Star Camp entertainment and the easy beach access, with one reviewer calling the shallow splash pool "a safe and joyful spot for our toddler."

  • Transfer: about 50 to 60 minutes from Palma.

  • Walk to: the beach is under a minute from the rooms nearest the gardens; Playa de Muro is quieter than Alcudia with fewer shops on the doorstep.

  • Beach: Blue Flag, soft white sand, calm and shallow.

  • Toddler kit: splash pools with slides, play area with mini trampoline, kids' entertainment, family rooms.

  • Board: all inclusive.

  • The catch: beach sunbeds cost extra, and the a la carte restaurants book up fast, so reserve on arrival.

Menorca (around 2 hours 15 from the UK)

Royal Son Bou Family Club, Son Bou

Royal Son Bou Family Club

The quietest, most laid back toddler holiday on this list, built specifically for families with little ones and sitting 100 metres from Menorca's longest beach. Guest scores hover around 9.0, and reviewers love the calm and the apartments, which come with a kitchenette, cot and high chair. The honest TripAdvisor read is that it suits beach lovers more than explorers.

  • Transfer: about 20 minutes from Menorca Airport, and Jet2 includes free express transfers.

  • Walk to: the beach is 100 metres; Son Bou is small and quiet by design.

  • Beach: two miles of soft sand, gentle waves, protected dunes, summer lifeguards.

  • Toddler kit: solar heated kids' pool, playground, mini disco, childcare at lunch and dinner, kitchenette apartments.

  • Board: half board and all inclusive.

  • The catch: little nightlife or bustle, and Ciutadella is 40 minutes away, so it is a stay put beach base.

Sol Falco, Cala'n Bosch

Sol Falco

For more all inclusive splash and a marina on the doorstep, Cala'n Bosch is a pedestrianised, family first resort built around a sheltered shallow cove. Sol Falco brings seven pools, a splash park and a busy entertainment programme, and it is a long standing favourite with families wanting fuss free fun in a calm Menorcan setting.

  • Transfer: about 45 minutes from Menorca Airport (Cala'n Bosch sits at the far southwest near Ciutadella).

  • Walk to: the marina, beach, mini golf and small supermarkets are all an easy, pedestrianised stroll.

  • Beach: Cala'n Bosch cove and nearby Son Xoriguer, both sheltered and shallow.

  • Toddler kit: seven pools, splash park, kids' club, mini disco.

  • Board: all inclusive (with a wristband upgrade for better drinks on some rooms).

  • The catch: it is a big resort, so request a room near the pools and you will not be hiking back from the far end with a buggy.

Ibiza (around 2 hours 30 from the UK)

Yes, Ibiza absolutely does family. The east coast and north are calm, sandy and a world away from the clubs. Our guide to Ibiza's beaches breaks them down by what you are actually after.

Tropic Garden Hotel Apartments, Santa Eulalia

Tropic Garden

Santa Eulalia is Ibiza's most polished family resort, with a palm lined promenade, a calm beach and a scenic marina. Tropic Garden is an apartment hotel a family who travelled here with Jet2 described as "an excellent hotel in a great location," with a lagoon style pool, a splash park and the kitchenette flexibility that makes toddler teas and bottles easy.

  • Transfer: about 30 to 40 minutes from Ibiza Airport.

  • Walk to: Santa Eulalia's promenade, beach and restaurants, with shops and supermarkets within about 10 minutes.

  • Beach: Santa Eulalia's sandy, sheltered town beach with calm water.

  • Toddler kit: apartments with kitchenettes, lagoon style pool, splash park, kids' club.

  • Board: half board and all inclusive.

  • The catch: it can feel lively in peak season, so ask for a room away from the pool stage if you want quiet naps.

Invisa Figueral Resort (Cala Blanca), Es Figueral

Invisa Figueral Cala Blanca

A big, genuinely family focused all inclusive on the quiet northeast coast, sitting above one of the gentlest toddler beaches in Spain. It rates 4.5 out of 5 on TripAdvisor, and parents single out the enormous kids' area and Pirate Island water zone. The beach is the real draw: reviewers describe water that stays "ankle deep for what feels like forever." We took our own toddler here, so for the honest first hand version, see Ibiza with a toddler at Es Figueral. The Las Dalias hippy market in nearby San Carlos makes a good morning out too.

  • Transfer: Jet2 lists about 1 hour 30 on the shared coach (the drive is closer to 40 minutes), so consider a private transfer with little ones.

  • Walk to: a short walk downhill to the beach; otherwise it is a self contained resort with little else immediately around.

  • Beach: Es Figueral, a Blue Flag bay with soft sand and very shallow water.

  • Toddler kit: six pools including children's pools, a 5,000 square metre kids' area, splash zone, playground.

  • Board: all inclusive, plus half board and bed and breakfast.

  • The catch: the hillside setting means a walk back up from the beach, harder with a tired toddler and a buggy, and it is isolated, so you will not stroll to a town.

Formentera (fly to Ibiza, around 2 hours 30, then ferry)

Insotel Hotel Formentera Playa, Platja de Migjorn

Insotel Hotel

Jet2 launched Formentera packages in 2024, flying you to Ibiza then arranging the ferry and coach across (summer only, roughly May to October). The payoff is one of the most beautiful, unspoilt beaches in the Balearics. Insotel Formentera Playa sits right on the 5km Migjorn beach, with two sea view pools, two restaurants and a kids' club.

  • Transfer: a journey day, namely the flight to Ibiza, a coach to the port, a 30 to 40 minute ferry, then a coach in Formentera.

  • Walk to: straight onto Migjorn beach; the island is tiny and go slow, with hippy markets and beach bars.

  • Beach: powder soft white sand and crystal clear, shallow shallows.

  • Toddler kit: two pools, kids' club, beachfront setting.

  • The catch: that multi leg journey is a lot with a baby, and Formentera is deliberately quiet, so it suits parents who want calm over facilities.

Mainland Spain

Flat promenades, gently shelving Blue Flag beaches and, crucially, resorts where you genuinely never need a hire car.

Costa del Sol (around 2 hours 45 to 3 hours from the UK)

Globales Los Patos Park, Benalmadena

Globales los Patos

The best value mainland all inclusive, and proof you do not need an island. It is unflashy but does the important things well: an on site splash park with a pirate ship water cannon, four pools and a kids' club. Reviewers highlight the easy beach access, with one noting it is a "very short walk to the beach" with a large Dia supermarket nearby.

  • Transfer: about 20 to 30 minutes from Malaga, and Jet2 includes free express transfers.

  • Walk to: the beach in 5 to 15 minutes, plus the long flat seafront promenade, which is buggy heaven.

  • Beach: gently shelving Blue Flag sand with calm water.

  • Toddler kit: splash park, four pools, kids' club, child friendly all inclusive menus.

  • Board: all inclusive and half board.

  • The catch: functional rather than stylish, and a few reviews mention dated rooms, though it is great value.

See this hotel on Jet2 →

Sunset Beach Club, Benalmadena

Sunset Beach Club

The self catering alternative, right on the seafront with apartments that have full kitchens, which is a quiet win for early toddler teas, fussy eaters and bottles. It is a long running family staple, a few steps from the beach and the flat promenade, with the tram nearby for car free days out.

  • Transfer: about 20 to 30 minutes from Malaga (16km).

  • Walk to: the beach is 50 metres, with shops and restaurants on the promenade.

  • Beach: Benalmadena's calm, gently shelving sands.

  • Toddler kit: kitchenette apartments, pools, family sized rooms, entertainment.

  • Board: room only and self catering, with board upgrades available.

  • The catch: it is a large, busy complex, so ask for a room away from the noisier central areas if you want quiet naps.

Costa Blanca (around 2 hours 30 from the UK)

Magic Robin Hood, Albir (near Benidorm)

Magic Robin Hood

A themed all inclusive resort that toddlers adore, with a Robin Hood story running through it, wooden lodges to sleep in, and a splash park stuffed with tipping buckets, water guns, jets and a water dome. Parents rate it highly for little ones, with one noting the food is "loads of choice even for fussy kids." There is an adventure playground, indoor soft play, and even a castle to explore.

  • Transfer: about 50 minutes to an hour from Alicante.

  • Walk to: an on site mini market; for the beach and Benidorm there is a regular bus (the number 10), as it is set inland.

  • Beach: Benidorm's Levante and the quieter Poniente are gently shelving, a short bus ride away.

  • Toddler kit: splash park, slides, soft play, kids' club, mini disco, themed lodges.

  • Board: all inclusive.

  • The catch: it is not beachfront, so this is a stay on resort splash holiday rather than a beach stroll one.

See this hotel on Jet2 →

Costa Dorada (around 2 hours 15 to 2 hours 30 from the UK)

Estival El Dorado Resort, Cambrils

Estival el Dorado

Cambrils is the calm, refined end of the Costa Dorada, with 9km of Blue Flag shallow beach and flat promenades you can walk for miles. A parent who stayed here with Jet2 called it "brilliant, especially for a young family," praising the splash park, the beach and the gardens. PortAventura is a short hop for the future, when the kids are bigger.

  • Transfer: about 15 to 20 minutes from Reus or roughly 1 hour 15 from Barcelona, with free express transfers included.

  • Walk to: the beach and Cambrils' long pram friendly promenade, plus the marina.

  • Beach: Blue Flag, soft sand, safe and shallow.

  • Toddler kit: splash park, three outdoor pools, an indoor pool, gardens to play in.

  • Board: half board and all inclusive, with a PortAventura ticket option.

  • The catch: Salou nearby is much livelier and noisier at night, so Cambrils is the calmer base for under fives.

The Canary Islands

Longer flights, but year round sun, including proper winter sun, which is why so many families with babies fly south in the colder months.

Lanzarote (around 4 hours to 4 hours 15 from the UK)

Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort, Playa Blanca

Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel

Arguably the most toddler ready hotel in the whole range, a five star beachfront resort in the middle of Playa Blanca that Condé Nast Traveler has named Best Family Hotel in Spain. It holds a Travellers' Choice spot in TripAdvisor's top tier with scores around 9.4 elsewhere, and the standouts are a crèche with cameras you can check on an app, the kids' club, soft play and pools at every depth.

  • Transfer: about 30 minutes from Lanzarote Airport.

  • Walk to: beach seconds away, a supermarket directly opposite, and town and Marina Rubicon about 10 minutes.

  • Beach: calm, sheltered and shallow.

  • Toddler kit: crèche, kids' club, soft play, multiple shallow pools, family suites, high chairs everywhere.

  • Board: all inclusive available.

  • The catch: food is premium priced (buffet vouchers around 33 euros per adult), and the marina path has only a chain fence by the water.

H10 Rubicon Palace, Playa Blanca

H10 Rubicon Palace

The big all inclusive splash option, a five star resort split into family, central and adults' zones, with eight pools and the Daisy Adventure kids' area complete with a pirate ship, slides and a giant mushroom. A Jet2 guest reviewer said they would "highly recommend" it. There is a crèche from age one and kids' clubs by age band.

  • Transfer: about 30 to 40 minutes from Lanzarote Airport.

  • Walk to: here is the honest bit, it is at the far western end of Playa Blanca, so the town is about two miles and the marina four and a half. You can walk the promenade, but it is a hike to the main hub.

  • Beach: the village's main beach is a stroll along the seafront; the hotel itself is set back near the lighthouse.

  • Toddler kit: eight pools, several heated in winter, splash area, crèche, kids' clubs.

  • Board: all inclusive.

  • The catch: a few guests feel the five star billing is really four star unless you pay for Privilege rooms, and pools get busy.

Fuerteventura (around 4 hours 15 from the UK)

Barcelo Fuerteventura (Castillo and Mar), Caleta de Fuste

Barcelo

The shortest transfer on this whole list, paired with a beach made for paddling. Caleta de Fuste wraps around a sheltered, shallow, horseshoe lagoon that Jet2 itself rates among the best Fuerteventura beaches for young children. The Barcelo complex sits right on it, with a splash park, themed kids' clubs and several pools shared across sister hotels.

  • Transfer: about 20 minutes from Fuerteventura Airport.

  • Walk to: the heart of Caleta de Fuste, with bars, restaurants, shops and the marina all an easy stroll.

  • Beach: sheltered, shallow and calm, though the tide comes in quickly.

  • Toddler kit: splash park, pirate and princess kids' clubs, several pools including a heated one.

  • Board: everything from self catering to all inclusive.

  • The catch: the grounds are big, so request a room near the beach and pools, or it is a long internal walk with a buggy.

See this hotel on Jet2 →

Arena Beach and Acua Waterpark, Corralejo

Arena Beach

Up on the lively northern tip, this one comes with unlimited entry to Corralejo's Acua Waterpark included by Jet2, plus its own splash park for the smallest swimmers. The well equipped apartments suit families, and you are close to the town centre and the El Campanario shops.

  • Transfer: about 40 minutes from Fuerteventura Airport.

  • Walk to: the resort centre, shops and town beaches.

  • Beach: town beaches nearby, with the famous Corralejo dunes and Grandes Playas a little further out.

  • Toddler kit: splash park, three pools, kids' club, mini disco, kitchenette apartments, free waterpark access.

  • Board: all inclusive available.

  • The catch: Corralejo is the island's largest and liveliest resort and it can be windy, and the best dune beaches need a short drive.

See this hotel on Jet2 →

Tenerife (around 4 hours 30 from the UK)

GF Victoria, Costa Adeje

GF Victoria

The premium year round pick, in the most family friendly part of Tenerife. It scores around 9.2 and picks up family hotel awards, and for under fives it goes beyond a single splash park with an indoor play area dedicated to one to three year olds and age specific kids' zones. A parent of a two and four year old said the "pool setup is excellent for families."

  • Transfer: about 20 minutes from Tenerife South Airport.

  • Walk to: Plaza del Duque shopping across the road, and Playa del Duque beach and promenade 5 to 10 minutes.

  • Beach: Costa Adeje's calm, sandy Duque and Fanabe beaches, a short flat walk.

  • Toddler kit: water park, dedicated 1 to 3 indoor play, age specific kids' areas, cots.

  • Board: all inclusive available.

  • The catch: five star priced, and while Costa Adeje is walkable, exploring the wider island (Loro Parque, Siam Park) needs a car or taxis.

See this hotel on Jet2 →

HOVIMA La Pinta Beachfront Family Hotel, Costa Adeje

Hovima la Pinta

The value, beachfront alternative in the same resort, right on Playa La Pinta with the strip of bars, shops and restaurants on your doorstep. Apartments come with cots, there is a splash park, soft play and a kids' pool with a slide, and pools are heated in winter. A parent who stayed with a six year old said the location "right at the sheltered calm beach was perfect."

  • Transfer: about 20 minutes from Tenerife South Airport.

  • Walk to: straight onto the beach, with the promenade, restaurants and shops feet away.

  • Beach: sheltered, calm Playa La Pinta, with Fanabe and El Duque nearby.

  • Toddler kit: splash park, kids' pool with slide, soft play, mini club, kitchenette apartments, cots.

  • Board: all inclusive, plus half board and bed and breakfast.

  • The catch: the kids' food leans towards fast food, so fussy or healthier eaters may want to dip out to the strip.

See this hotel on Jet2 →

Gran Canaria (around 4 hours 30 from the UK)

Lopesan Baobab Resort, Meloneras

Lopesan Boabab Resort

Meloneras is the calmer, more refined end of the south, and this African themed resort is a toddler favourite thanks to lagoon style pools, dedicated kids' pools and, best of all for little ones, a wave free lake style beach area for digging and paddling. A parent who went with a ten month old "seriously" recommended it. Maspalomas beach is about a ten minute walk.

  • Transfer: about 30 to 40 minutes from the airport, and Jet2 includes free express transfers on this hotel (worth having here, as the standard shared coach to parts of Gran Canaria can run close to two hours).

  • Walk to: Maspalomas beach in about 10 minutes, plus the Meloneras promenade and shopping.

  • Beach: Meloneras and Maspalomas are calm with a gentle entry, but the sand is dark and volcanic and can be rocky underfoot, so pack beach shoes.

  • Toddler kit: lagoon style pools, kids' pools, lake style sand beach, mini club, family rooms sleeping up to five.

  • Board: half board plus and all inclusive options across the Lopesan resorts.

  • The catch: the volcanic beach is less soft underfoot than the Balearic bays, and it is a big, busy complex.

Frequently asked questions

Which Jet2 resort is best for toddlers in Spain? For sheer ease and winter sun, Princesa Yaiza in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. For the quietest week, Royal Son Bou in Menorca. For a short flight with no hire car needed, Benalmadena on the Costa del Sol. For the gentlest paddling beach with a 20 minute transfer, Caleta de Fuste in Fuerteventura.

What is the shortest Jet2 transfer in Spain for families? Caleta de Fuste (Fuerteventura), Costa Adeje (Tenerife) and Son Bou (Menorca) are all around 20 minutes, and Playa Blanca (Lanzarote) about 30. Several of these hotels also include Jet2's free express transfers, which cut out extra drop offs.

All inclusive, half board or self catering with a toddler? All inclusive removes the daily faff and gives cost certainty. Half board or a kitchenette apartment gives flexibility for naps, early teas and fussy eaters. Resorts like Royal Son Bou, Sunset Beach Club, HOVIMA La Pinta and Tropic Garden have kitchenette options that make bottles and toddler meals far easier.

Do I need a hire car for a Jet2 family holiday in Spain? In walkable promenade resorts like the Costa del Sol, Caleta de Fuste, Playa Blanca, Costa Adeje and Son Bou, no. You would only want one to explore a bigger island like Tenerife or Gran Canaria widely, and even then taxis and day trip coaches cover the main attractions.

When is the best time to go with a toddler? The Canaries work all year, including winter sun, with the south of each island warmest and calmest. For the mainland and Balearics, late spring and September give gentler heat than peak summer, which is much easier going for little ones.

Two more reads for the toddler years: what to do when the kids wake up early on holiday and what to do on holiday when the kids are asleep.

Flight times, transfer times and review scores are approximate and drawn from Jet2, TripAdvisor, Google and guest reviews at the time of writing. Hotel availability through Jet2 changes regularly, especially seasonal destinations like Formentera, so always confirm the current listing, board basis and facilities before booking.
