Where we stayed
We stayed at Hotel Ereso in Es Caná, Ibiza, three adults and two children, two rooms, all inclusive, booked through TUI. It cost around £3,000 for the five of us, which felt fair for what we got.
The room was well equipped, which mattered more than we expected because the nights got properly cold in May. Even sitting outside in the evening to watch the shows, the staff came round with blankets so we didn't have to cut the evening short. If you're going in May, pack hoodies. It caught us out a few times, especially around the pool.
The hotel itself is walkable to the beach and all the shops in Es Caná, so we didn't need to hire a car or rely on taxis to get around.
What we did
Days were split between the pool and the kids club. There's a specific splash pool for younger children, which meant our two could mess about safely while we relaxed nearby. The main pool was good, if a little cold in May.
The kids club kept the children entertained and happy for hours at a time, which gave us a proper break. For the adults, there were activities on throughout the day too, darts among them, so it wasn't just a case of sitting by the pool all week.
Evenings were a highlight. Different entertainment every night, singers, magic shows, the lot. It was genuinely fantastic and something we looked forward to each evening.
Where we ate and drank
The food was one of the best parts of the whole trip. A different variety every single day, and enough choice that even our kids ended up trying things they wouldn't normally go near at home. Being all inclusive, we didn't need to think twice about eating out elsewhere, the hotel had it covered.
What it cost
Around £3,000 for three adults and two children, two rooms, all inclusive, booked through TUI. For the food quality, entertainment, and kids club included, it felt like good value rather than a splurge.
The verdict
We'd definitely go back, though next time we'd choose a warmer month. It's the kind of place we'd recommend to pretty much anyone, couples, families, even a girls' holiday. It really does suit all kinds of trips.
