1

The basics

Start typing and pick from the list.

The hotel, hostel, campsite or apartment name. This is the bit people search for, so it matters more than it looks.

The beds, the bathrooms, the common area. Somewhere to sleep, or somewhere you met people?

Seasonality changes a trip more than anything else.

2

The story

Write like you would to a friend who is thinking of going. No minimum length, and you can skip anything that does not apply.

Solo, with a partner, with mates, or with people you'd met three days earlier? Did that change how the place felt?

Was there a scene, or was it quiet? Easy to get around on foot or cheap transport? Did it feel safe walking back at night? How easy was it to meet people?

Treks, tours, beaches, or doing very little. What was worth the money, what was an overpriced tourist trap, and what needs booking ahead?

One thing that stands out. Somewhere you went, something you did, or someone you met that you still talk about.

Street food, markets, hostel kitchen. Name places if you can. Where did people end up at night, and what did a beer cost?

Getting there and moving on, borders and visas, scams, cash or card, kit you carried and never used.

A rough daily budget is plenty: bed, food, drinks, the odd tour. Anything a bargain or a rip-off?

A line or two is plenty. Somewhere for a first big trip, or for someone who's been doing this a while?

Photos

Your own photos from the trip. They are what bring the story to life.

Cover photo

This is the one that appears at the top of your story and on every listing that links to it. A wide shot works better than a portrait one.

Up to 10 more. Drag them into the order you want them to appear.

About you

A first name on its own is completely fine.

So we can ask a follow-up question if we need one, and send you the link once your story is up. Nothing else.

One sentence for your byline. Something like: Mum of two from Leeds, usually found somewhere with a pool.

Instagram, your own blog, anything like that. We will put it on your byline.
