Share your travel stories with our community and earn a backlink to your site in return.
TravelPen is a community-driven platform for authentic travel storytelling. We publish a curated selection of articles in our Explore section — destination guides, practical tips, and personal essays from travelers who have actually been there.
If you have a story worth telling and meet our guidelines below, we'd love to hear from you. In exchange for a quality contribution, you'll receive a do-follow backlink to your website or blog in your author bio.
What you get
Every accepted guest post includes a short author bio at the bottom of the article with a do-follow link to the website of your choice. Your article will also be promoted on our social media channels and indexed by search engines — giving your link genuine referral traffic, not just a buried mention.

Not sure if your idea fits? Pitch it anyway — we're open to topics that don't fit neatly into a category as long as the writing is good.
What we accept
Requirements
- Minimum 800 words — ideally 1,000–1,500 for in-depth pieces
- Original content not published anywhere else (including your own blog)
- First-person perspective with genuine personal experience
- At least one high-quality image (you must own the rights)
- Correct spelling and grammar — we do light editing, not rewrites
- A short author bio (2–3 sentences) with a link to your site or social
What we don't accept
Not a Good Fit
- Pure destination listicles with no personal angle
- Heavily promotional content or thinly veiled ads
- Content generated entirely by AI
- Duplicate or previously published content
- Articles unrelated to travel
How it works
The Process
Pitch your idea
Send us a brief outline of your article — the topic, your angle, and a sentence or two about why you're the right person to write it. A short pitch is faster to review than a full draft.
We get back to you
We aim to respond within 5–7 business days. If we like the pitch we'll give you the green light to send the full article.
Submit your draft
Send us your article as a Google Doc or plain text. Include any images (JPG/PNG, min 1200px wide) and your author bio with your preferred link.
Review and publish
We'll review for quality and fit, do light copy-editing if needed, and publish. We'll let you know when it goes live so you can share it.
